I feel pretty good about 43 days, but I eagerly await the day when I stop feeling like bitch-slapping everyone who comes within my 3 feet of personal space. It IS getting better, but my skin is still crawling and all the little hairs are still on end. Maybe this is the price of cold turkey after five days of nicotine patches ... Brad

Valid point. All I know is that not having the option of smoking in a bar, nor having people around me who actively are smoking, will go a long ways towards helping "casual" smokers like myself kick the habit for good.

I think, or hope, that people are smart enough to know the difference between acceptable uses of legislative power (i.e. a smoking ban) vs. unacceptable legislation (i.e. a ban on black people).

God speed young Kyle.

I'm pretty sure that smoking dehydrates you as well. And dehydration is basically what causes hangovers, so it all adds up, my friend.

I'm proud of you, champ!

that was a scary drive, indeed. You looked so cracked out you belonged on burnside hustling for another hit.
But-you did have some stressful situations:
1. Waiting for my monkey ass to get off work and then not be completely ready, running in/out of the apartment retrieving items for said trip.
2. Leaving ATM card in machine
3. Forgetting foot pump for desired air mattress...
4. Picking up desired air mattress at Fred Meyers, all in all these events delayed us by 1 hour.
 You did good considering!

Having a mom who smoked/quit repeatedly I thought I was prepared for what lay ahead of me in my role as partner to someone who is kicking the habit. I guess being the daughter of someone who is quitting is easier than being the girlfriend! Just like there are new rules for Kyle, there are some rules I have to mind, too.
1. Have on stock sunflowerseeds/gum/chocolate when the urge comes
2. Don't talk about anything that promotes stress or discomfort
3. Be supportive and not do fun things for a bit while he gets more control over his urges.
4. Have LOST availabe at all times
5. get a motherfucking GYM membership for my new NON-smoking boyfriend!!!! Yeah baby!!!!
